I’ve been seeing different posts on freezer friendly/ crock pot meals and decided it was time I tried it out. With these recipes I tried to put together a variety so it wouldn’t be like we were having the same type of meal each day.
I first picked out what recipes I wanted to try (I will post a list down below). Then, I went though the ingredients for all the recipes and made a list of what I’d need. The best way I found to do this is start with the meats..I divided the recipes up by chicken, beef and pork. I went though and checked out many chicken breast, thighs or drumsticks I’d need.
I will break down the recipes here by type of meat to try to make making a list a bit easier on everyone.
For all the food on my list I spent just around $280. I would say for the $280 I was able to get enough for about 32 meals including the 24 freezer meals. That breaks down to $8.75 per meal and that is for a family of 5! That breaks down to just $1.75 per person per meal! Now there are days my kids won’t eat the meals so those days they will have peanut butter bread which only adds about $10 for a month.
