I was so excited to go pick out a ham from HoneyBaked Ham this past weekend. Around Easter the HoneyBaked Ham stores have lines around the corner of people waiting for their Easter Ham. I have always wondered what their hams tasted like. I mean they must be good if hundreds of people line up waiting each year.
I went into my local HoneyBaked Ham store in Webster, TX and the guy working there was SUPER helpful. With this being my first time buying anything there I wasn’t sure exactly what I needed. He asked how many people I would need to feed and helped me find the perfect size ham for the gathering. I was also able to get 4 sides and a dessert. I got a quarter of a ham to feed 4 adults, 1 teenage boy and 3 toddlers. It was the perfect size to have left overs for my husband and I for the next few days for our lunches. I also go mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole and broccoli and rice as well as a cheese cake sampler. I haven’t tried the broccoli and rice casserole yet but the other other 4 side dishes were excellent! The ham was perfect it had a sweet glaze on top that added tons of flavor.

Everyone really enjoyed the entire meal. My 4 year old son noticed that the mac and cheese noodles were different then what I use to make my homemade mac and cheese and he said he really liked my new way of making it. 😉
The ham was already cooked so I just had to stick it in the oven for a few minutes to heat it up. All the side dishes were easy to heat up in the oven for about an hour. One thing I don’t like about big meals is all the clean up and that made the HoneyBaked Ham meal that much better. I didn’t have to clean any baking dishes just the few plates, silverware and cups so clean up was a breeze.
This may not be something we do for Easter right now because my mother in law likes to make the meal, but, when its my turn to start making the meal this is going to be what I serve! Not just for Easter either for Christmas and Thanksgiving as well. I love to cook but don’t like missing out on all the family visiting time. This will give us something amazing to eat and I won’t have to spend the entire day in the kitchen cooking and cleaning! That is a WIN, WIN for me!
Yesterday I took some of the left over ham and cut it into little cubes and added it to my salad for an awesome lunch. Today I will probably do the same thing because the little pieces of ham add so much flavor to the salad that I didn’t need as much salad dressing. I’m trying to watch my calories so the ham on my salad makes a perfect lunch!
