This past week for science we did a small project….Pudding Slime/ Play-dough.
We started out with the intent of making slime but in the end it was more like playdough.
First we only used 3 ingredients.
- 1/4 cup instant pudding mix
- 1 cup corn starch
- 1/3 cup warm water
Add the instant pudding mix to 1/2 of the corn starch. Next add the warm water. The mixture will be very sticky at this point. Start to slowly add the other 1/2 of the corn starch mixture. Once it gets hard to mix with a spoon go ahead and kneed it by hand. If your slime seems a little dry just add a tiny bit more water.
I have also read another play-dough recipe that calls for just 2 ingredients.
1 pudding cup
1/2 to 1 cup of corn starch
Start by adding the pudding cup with just 1/2 cup of corn starch. As you start mixing you can determine how much more corn starch you want to add.
If stored in a Ziploc bag the play-dough should last 2 to 3 days.
Hope you and your kiddos enjoy these slime/ play-dough recipes as much as we did! 🙂
(NOTE: As my boys played with the slime/ play-dough it did get a bit sticky so we just sprinkled a little corn starch on the table.)
